Students Try to Steal Giant Pepper From Chili’s Rooftop

Bennington, Vermont - Triggered by an alarm, cops arrived at the Chili’s in Bennington, Vt., around 4:30 a.m. to find Asher Woodworth, 23, on the roof. He had been removing the bolts that held the red and green chili pepper in place with a hacksaw and a power drill. School: Ohio teacher took students to strip club

HAMILTON, Ohio – A school spokesman said a southwest Ohio teacher has resigned after acknowledging she accompanied four female students to a male strip club. Butler Tech school district spokesman Bill Solazzo said the 47-year-old teacher resigned Thursday.

He said the teacher told Edgewood High School administrators that the students, all cheerleaders, asked her to take them to the bar in February.

The teacher told school officials in an e-mail that she got permission from the parents of the 17- and 18-year-olds to bring them to the club.

The teacher taught marketing at the school and previously served as a coach for the district's eighth-grade cheerleaders.

Assistant Police Chief Jay Spradling says police are fairly certain the Sept. 22 incident was hazing. He says 8 of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity members arrested this week on suspicion of disorderly conduct were pledges, while one was the pledge master.

ASU has a strict policy against hazing, as does the national fraternity organization.

Tempe police Sgt. Steve Carbajal said the vomit caused one car's driver to stop, and another car smashed into it from behind. A woman and her 6-year-old daughter suffered minor injuries.

Stupid News - Ohio students' hotel room doors duct-taped shut

Stupid News - Ohio students' hotel room doors duct-taped shut! Very dumb!

MILLBURY, Ohio - Parents have complained to a northwest Ohio school board that a chaperone sealed students in their hotel rooms with duct tape during a high school choir field trip.

At a heated meeting Monday, Michelle Mata told the Lake Local school board in Millbury that the tactic panicked her son during a recent weekend trip to Chicago.

Sylvia Keeler said she may file charges. Her son, Mark Hummel, said he worried he could be trapped during a fire.

School board president Timothy Krugh (kroo) told parents the tape was meant to keep students safe.

Schools Superintendent Jim Witt said the tape would show if students violated curfew but wouldn't have kept them from escaping in an emergency.
