Corvette stolen in 1970 returned

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona - A 1965 Corvette stolen in 1970 is being returned to its Nashville owner in perfect condition after being found in Scottsdale, Ariz., police said. The Nassau blue convertible with a white top was worth about $2,200 when it was stolen from Chance Mayfield 39 years ago. Today it’s worth an estimated $65,000, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported Sunday. Mayfield walked out of a bar in Nashville in November 1970 to find the car gone. The car was traced to Mayfield when a collector who had bought the car tried to register it with the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles....More

'Gold' rings stolen from Ohio shop just brass
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- An Ohio jeweler says thieves who smashed their way into his store and got away with rings are in for a surprise when they try to sell them. Stolen 1965 van recovered after 35 years

LOS ANGELES, California - A 1965 Volkswagen van stolen 35 years ago in Spokane, Washington, was found by customs agents in a shipping container in the Los Angeles port a U.S. Customs and Border Protection official said. The blue van, in pristine condition, was bound for Germany along with several vintage Volkswagens, Customs and Border Protection Port Director Todd Hoffman said. While it was likely worth just a few hundred dollars when it was stolen, the VW is now valued at about $27,000, he said.....More

Odd News-Stolen Chihuahua Turns Up at Vet's After Ingesting Meth
Bremerton - An employee with a Tacoma veterinary clinic called Bremerton Police on Friday to report a suspicious incident. The employee told an officer a Chihuahua had been brought into the clinic Thursday by a 40-year-old Silverdale man. The veterinarian believed the dog had ingested methamphetamine based on its strange behavior. They also believed the Silverdale man might have been high on methamphetamine, according to reports.
The dog was scanned for its microchip, which contains its owner's information. The chip showed the dog belonged to a 58-year-old Bremerton woman. The woman was called and said her dog had been reported missing a year ago.

The Silverdale man told the clinic he had been given the dog to repay a debt. Police talked with the Bremerton woman who said she didn't want anyone arrested; she just wanted her dog back.
The report was forwarded to detectives.
