Calif. woman charged with torture in severed penis case (Reuters)


Catherine Kieu Becker, seen in a police mugshot taken July 11, 2011, has been arrested and charged with the crimes of aggravated mayhem, false imprisonment, and assault with a deadly weapon, administering a drug with intent to commit felony, poisoning, and spousal abuse after police responded to a home in Garden Grove, California and said that they found her husband tied to a bed and bleeding from his groin area. Police said in a news release issued July 12, 2011 that Becker had used an unknown type of poison and/or drug in her husband's food to make him sleepy, then tied him to a bed and as he awoke cut off his penis with a knife.
