Pilots Cited for Landing on Frozen Lake to Have Lunch

Minneapolis, Minnesota - A hankering for hamburgers got two pilots in trouble with the City of Minneapolis Monday afternoon. The men landed their planes on Lake Calhoun to go have lunch at a nearby restaurant. Unless there?s an emergency, planes are banned from taking off or landing on any Minneapolis waterway or parkway. Minneapolis Park Police Captain Robert Goodse said, ?It?s just more of an odd thing that has occurred that?s all. At least in my 23 years, I haven?t seen it.? ---...More
